One-Week Bivouac

Program

 Day 1

- Departure at 10 a.m. from the jetty in Ndangane  
- Traditional songs and djembé lessons on the pirogue led by our artist Tala (lessons available on request throughout the excursion)  
- Visit to Djifer to observe the fishermen returning  
- Cross the delta mouth to reach the island of Dionewar  
- Traditional lunch and tea  
- Hike on the island to see the baobab forest or shell mounds  
- Swimming, apéritif and dinner on “No Stress Island”  
- Traditional songs and dancing around the campfire

 Day 2

- Morning swim and breakfast  
- Head to the island of Niodor to the rhythm of the djembés  
- Traditional lunch and tea  
- Swimming and time to digest  
- Hike to the island of Guior, crossing its famous bridge  
- Visit the village and meet the locals  
- Apéritif and dinner  
- Traditional songs and dancing around the campfire — until sleep calls

 Day 3

- Morning swim and breakfast  
- Head to Shell Island to admire its baobabs  
- Lunch and tea on the pirogue  
- Swimming and digestion on the way to Sipo Island  
- Visit the village and hike to spot monkeys and wild warthogs  
- Head to Sipo Island to set up our camp  
- Swimming, apéritif and dinner  
- Traditional songs and dancing around the campfire — until sleep calls

 Day 4

- Morning swim and breakfast  
- Head to Missirah to see its kapok tree, the largest in the region  
- Visit the Fathala Reserve for a walk behind the lions (entry not included in our rates — this activity can be replaced if preferred)  

- Lunch on the pirogue  
- Visit the Bentinti bird park  
- Head to Djidiack Bara to set up camp  
- Swimming, apéritif and dinner  
- Traditional songs and dancing around the campfire — until sleep calls

 Day 5

- Morning swim and breakfast  
- Head to Bagadadji for the day: visit the national park and meet the forest rangers  
- Evening swim, apéritif and dinner  
- Traditional songs and dancing around the campfire — until sleep calls

 Day 6

- Morning swim and breakfast  
- Head to Fambine Island to meet the artisans at the pirogue workshop  
- Short hike to reach the island of Djirnda  
- Lunch and tea on the pirogue  
- Head to Devil’s Island to set up our camp  
- Swimming, apéritif and dinner  
- Traditional songs and dancing around the campfire — until sleep calls

 Day 7

- Morning swim and breakfast  
- Visit to Mar Lodj: its sacred forest, church and “talking drum” 
- Traditional lunch and tea  
- Swimming and laughter at the natural pool  
- Drift back to Ndangane one last time, accompanied by our djembés

The excursion programme is for guidance only — it may be adjusted according to the weather, the season, and your preferences.

Rates   (Per person, per day)

- 8 to 12 participants: 30,000 FCFA ≈45 €

- 5 to 7 participants: 35,000 FCFA ≈53 €

- 3 to 4 participants: 45,000 FCFA ≈68 €

- 2 participants (excl. artists): 50,000 FCFA ≈76 €

Everything is included in our rates from N'Dangane.

This price covers the maintenance of the pirogue, fuel, meals, all drinks, the guide(s) from Mar Lodj, and of course a fair income shared among our large crew — artists, guides, and captain.

Note: Artists, djembé drumming and singing are included for groups of three or more. If you would like to include this experience for two people, an additional fee of 5,000 FCFA per person will apply.

Our bivouac equipment:

- Quality tents  
- Comfortable mattresses  
- Sheltered lounge area with table  
- Camping shower  
- Senegalese-style barbecue  
- Option to sleep in permanent camps instead of tents (additional cost: 7,500 FCFA per person)
